McCloys is Ireland's largest distributor of Eurotarget clay pigeons, supplying shooting grounds, clubs and retail customers across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and mainland UK.

Why grounds care about the clay
A layout is only as good as the target it throws. Inconsistent clays chip in the trap, dust the shooter, or break on the arm instead of in the air. That wastes cartridges, spoils a competition and frustrates paying Guns. Eurotarget has earned its place on Irish grounds because the targets fly true, survive the hopper and give a clean break when you do your job. As Ireland’s largest distributor, McCloys keeps that supply moving — not just a few boxes for the weekend, but pallets for clubs that throw thousands of birds a month.
Whether you run a sporting ground, a trap and skeet layout, or a farm shoot that puts on a charity day, the same rule applies: order the clays you trust, in the colours your Guns can see, and have them on site before Saturday. Our clays range is built around that.
Sporting, trap and skeet
Sporting clays ask a lot of a target. You need birds that hold together on a fast trap, show a consistent profile on quartering and driven presentations, and still break when centred. Trap and skeet are less theatrical but just as demanding: scores are won and lost on targets that wobble, sit low or flash inconsistently. Eurotarget’s standard and specialist clays cover the presentations most Irish grounds throw, including midi and battue where a layout needs a change of pace.
Colour is not decoration. Orange remains the default in most light; black, white and fluoro options help when the background is trees, sky or winter stubble. If you are setting a new layout, talk to us about what your traps will throw and what your stands look at. A clay that looks perfect in a catalogue can disappear against a dark bank.

Trade supply across Ireland and the UK
Clubs and commercial grounds cannot wait on a slow pallet. McCloys supplies Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and mainland UK, with trade customers able to arrange bulk delivery and Moffett offload where access allows. That matters when you have a lorry-width lane, a busy car park and no forklift. Tell us the site constraints when you order; we would rather plan the delivery than leave a driver guessing at the gate.
If you are a ground owner or a retailer, speak to us about regular call-offs rather than panic orders before a registered shoot. Our trade and transport team is used to the calendar of the clay season — spring practice, summer competitions, autumn charity shoots and the winter league. Stock planning is part of the service, not an afterthought.
Retail customers and private practice
Plenty of our Eurotarget volume still goes out a few boxes at a time. If you have a safe, legal place to throw clays, the same target the clubs use is available over the counter and online. Pair them with the right cartridges and a trap you can set without fighting. We would rather you buy clays that break cleanly than cheap targets that dust and teach you nothing.
Private practice is not a substitute for a proper ground, but it is a useful way to keep the gun moving between lessons. Keep hearing protection on, know your fallout area, and never throw towards buildings, roads or livestock. If you are unsure about traps or target types, ask in store. We would rather spend five minutes on advice than see a customer struggle with the wrong bird in the wrong trap.
Consistency makes better shooting
Coaches talk about gun fit and footwork, and they are right. They also know that a shooter who sees a true, repeatable target learns faster. That is why serious grounds are fussy about the clay. Eurotarget gives that repeatability; McCloys makes sure it is on the island in the volume grounds need.
